Nottingham Hospitals Charity Writes

Nottingham Hospitals Charity fundraising manager Nick Lawford writes to the Society:

Nottingham Hospitals Charity is so grateful to the Old Nottinghamians' Society, to everyone at the Maze and to all of the amazing performers for raising such a phenomenal amount of money for the Nottingham Renal & Transplant Unit with your event in December.  Thank you.

Alongside the £618.34 received in cash donations and ticket money on the night you raised a fantastic £1,260 via Just Giving (plus £271.25 in Gift Aid).

Please do pass on our sincere thanks to all of the brilliant performers on the night - Alice Short, April Towers, Matt Humphries, Izzy Carlin, Rielly Newbold and the Harry Smith Quintet - as well as to everyone who supported the event, including Rastarella Falade, Sam Nahirny, Cibele Ponces Alvarenga and Moorleys printing.  It was a fantastic line-up and you created another hugely entertaining evening, which will have such a positive impact on Nottingham's hospitals.

Incredibly kind supporters like you help to make the experience of being in hospital for patients and their families as positive as possible - improving facilities, providing important additional services, funding new life-saving equipment, initiating local medical research, supporting staff training and enhancing the first-class care given by the hospital teams.

The Nottingham Renal & Transplant Unit is the regional hub, caring for patients every day who travel from all over Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and South Yorkshire.  Your donation will have a hugely positive impact for hundreds of patients who currently attend the Unit, helping to transform the care that they receive.

The funds you raised will be used specifically to purchase seven TV/DVD players, stands and headphones, and two iPads, which will help patients on dialysis to pass the time.  The purchase of these items is now in process.

All of us at Nottingham Hospitals Charity and Nottingham's hospitals really appreciate your support.  Thank you so much - it has been a pleasure working with you again.

Yours sincerely,

Nick Lawford
