The Old Nottinghamians' Society warmly invites you and yours to the ONs' Summer Gig at The Bodega on Saturday 31st August. You will be beautifully entertained by live performances from ZOE KONEZ, BLESSING MAGORE and EGAN & MATSIKO.
ZOE KONEZ is a "wonderful singer, wonderful songwriter, wonderful guitarist" (Tom Robinson, BBC Radio 6 Music). You can hear for yourself on Hayley Don't Say Goodbye from her album Fold The World In Two, or on the single released in May this year, We Got Lost. Zoe and her drummer Will last played in Nottingham at the world-famous Guitar Bar. This is a rare chance to see one of London's best-kept secrets.
BLESSING MAGORE hails from Harare, Zimbabwe; plays guitar, bass, keyboards, drums; and has taught those instruments to children in Nottingham. Blessing has won many friends among audiences and fellow musicians with his superb artistry.
EGAN & MATSIKO shared their first musical conversation with a sell-out crowd in January this year. JOE EGAN is a guitarist, graduate of Leeds College of Music, teacher, composer and specialist in improvisation. DAUDI MATSIKO, another Nottingham-based favourite, sings and plays guitar to hushed audiences around the country.
THE BODEGA on Pelham Street, one of the city's best-loved venues, is the little sister to Rock City in the DHP Family. Previous musicians to play there include the Arctic Monkeys, Coldplay and The Strokes.
Saturday 31st August is another opportunity for ONs, family and friends to get together and enjoy an evening of superlative music in a special place.
Tickets priced at £8.80 (including booking fee) are on sale now here.
