On Thursday 6th July the ONs' Phoenix XI played Nottinghamshire Law Society for the Wheelhouse Cup 2023. This T20 match honours the memory of Alan Wheelhouse ON, a past president of both our societies.
The venue was Adbolton, the home of Old Nottinghamians' sport, where Alan Wheelhouse had both played and worked for the ONs.
Representing the ONs' Phoenix XI on this occasion were Adi Das, Henry Dilley, Robin Fisher, Jonathan Hammond (captain), Nigel Hampson, Anthony Hayward, Jabir Hussain, Abi Khan, Chris Padwick, Tracy Pearl and Jack Peirce.
Nottinghamshire Law Society won the toss and captain Aaron Singh elected to bat. You can read a full match report on the Old Nottinghamians' Society Facebook group page here.
The Phoenix XI restricted the visitors to 72 all out from their 20 overs. The ONs proceeded to knock off the runs, regaining the Wheelhouse Cup. Players and spectators then enjoyed pizza and drinks together.
