Old Nottinghamians outing to The History Boys
On Saturday 14th October a party of 38, including Old Nottinghamians & NGHS Alumnae, regular & new supporters, enjoyed a smashing evening together at the Lace Market Theatre for a production of The History Boys.

Former Girls' High School student Imogen Lea (pictured below with Laura Cree, supporting the Old Nottinghamians Society's Annual Dinner in the Derek Randall Suite at Trent Bridge last year) was making her directorial debut with Alan Bennett's multi-award winning drama The History Boys. Imogen, 22, who had also designed the set, is currently studying Scriptwriting & Performance at university, but had been given time off to take on this very ambitious project.
The play, which was once voted the Nation's Favourite, sold out from Monday to Saturday, breaking the box office record for a non-musical show at the Lace Market Theatre. The reviews had been great all week; Alan Geary of the Nottingham Post described the production as better than the professional ones he had seen. The party of Old Nottinghamians were fortunate that the Old Nottinghamians Society President had secured the best seats for the final night. They were treated to uniformly excellent performances from a group of seventeen to seventysomethings who had obviously enjoyed every moment of their own trip back to the classroom. Many Congratulations to Imogen, her cast & crew, on a brilliant success!
