The 127th Lunch of the Old Nottinghamians' Society is approaching. Bill Oldham, organiser extraordinaire, writes...
Once again it is time to meet at Beeston Fields Golf Club for an informal Society Lunch. The date of our 127th Lunch is 17th May 2018 and the Bar will be open at 12 noon. Lunch will be served at 12.45pm and therefore those who have to get away should be able to leave by 2.15pm. There will be some Society announcements, but as always no speeches. There is no need to dash away as you are most welcome to stay and carry on meeting old, and new, friends. It is expected that there will be some first-time guests, so please stay and make them welcome.
As usual there will be a two-course meal, followed by coffee and mints. The charge will be £17 per person, payable on the day at your table by cash or cheque to W M Oldham. The cost includes gratuities for the staff, and any extra amount paid will go to the Society Quincentenary Fund. If you have any dietary requests, or transport difficulties, please let me know and suitable arrangements will be made. I shall be grateful for any help with the seating plan, so please tell me with whom you wish to sit. Car parking is not a problem, but late arrivals may have to use the overflow car park.
I have to give, and pay for, the final numbers by midday on Monday 14th May, but late bookings are usually possible. Please let me know if you will be attending, either as you usually do (and remember I acknowledge every email or 'phone call, so if you do not have a reply from me, I have not received your message) or via email to secretary@old-nottinghamians-society.org. Even if you are unable to be with us, it would be good to hear from you.
Finally, please also put in your diary a note for 26th July, as there will be a Ladies Buffet Lunch that day - more details later. I hope to see you on the 17th May.
