ONGS Autumn Meeting 2020
The ONGS Autumn Meeting 2020 will take place on Friday 11th September. The venue is Willesley Park Golf Club, Measham Road, Ashby-de-la-Zouch LE65 2PF. Your Golfer magazine named Willesley Park its Leicestershire Golf Club of the Year in 2018. The Old Nottinghamians' Golfing Society invites all ON golfers and their guests to play.
ONGS Secretary Geoff Bryan writes:
'I am pleased to report that Willesley Park are still able to accommodate us on September 11th for our next scheduled event, which is The Pentecost Cup, plus The Wild & Wayward Cup for higher handicappers.
The only difference imposed by the Covid restrictions is that the locker rooms and showers will NOT be available. The toilets are in use, of course. We will therefore need to arrive ready to play and will NOT change for the meal afterwards.
They have large round tables for the meal to ensure the required distancing, which should hopefully enable a convivial end to the day.
I will need to let Willesley Park know as soon as possible if we have enough members willing to play to make the event viable, so please reply via the ONs' Secretary as soon as you can. The details are:
Tee off starts at 1:00 pm
As this is a combined Autumn Meeting and trophy competition, you are welcome to bring along one or more guests
There will be prizes for the leading players, but ONGS members only will compete for the following trophies:
Best Stableford Score (any handicap) - The Pentecost Cup
Best Stableford Score (handicap over 18) - The Wild & Wayward Cup
Please note that if a high handicap player wins the Pentecost Cup with the overall best score, then the Wild & Wayward Cup will be presented to the next best score by an over 18 handicap player
Cost will be £50 per person, which includes 18 holes, a 2-course dinner and prizes. Anyone wishing to eat before playing may be able to order food from the bar, possibly subject to Covid limitations
Buggies - a number of buggies are available, if pre-booked. Please call the Pro Shop on 01530 41482 to reserve one
Dress Code - as noted earlier, we need to remain in golf gear throughout.
Please confirm as soon as possible if you are planning to attend and if you are bringing any guests. If you have a preference for playing partners, please also let me know.
Please note that in common with most clubs, Willesley Park GC will require firm numbers a few days before the event, so if you need to cancel, you must let me know as early as possible. Late cancellations may result in the Society being charged and, if this happens, the cost would have to be passed on.'
